I Can't Sleep At Night

I've run out of things to do so I can just say 'hi' to you,
Perhaps if I had more to say, I'd feel a need to stay
I'm losing my mind over trying to summon the courage to tell you... to tell you

If I can't sleep at night, I can't sleep at night because of you
Well I can't sleep at night, I can't sleep at night… what should I do?
Because of you

Sitting here and counting sheep isn't helping me to sleep,
I just want you here, so I can tell you
how I'm losing my mind over trying to summon the courage to tell you... to tell you

That I can't sleep at night, I can't sleep at night because of you
I can't sleep at night, I can't sleep at night because of you

If you were mine for a day I'd make you never want to let go,
You don't see the iceberg of me; there's more to me than you could know

What can I do to scale the wall
I know the things I want to say
But if I do there's no way back
and I am lost again (repeat with guitar)

(guitar solo)

Sitting here and counting sheep isn't helping me to sleep,
I just want you here...

That I can't sleep at night, I can't sleep at night because of you
You're beautiful
You're beautiful

Did You Ever Stop To Think

Did you ever stop to think the water that you drink might have a past,
It might have been the wave that killed a thousand people in the Spring,
It's been around since long before we walked the Earth,
and now it's in your glass…

As ice it might have been snow from in the arctic circle,
It could have been in your Mum's icecream nearly thirty years ago,
It might have carved it's way through rock in the ice-age,
and now it's in your glass…

(piano solo)

It might have been the condensation that I breathed when I was five,
A cloud that made a lightning strike while over eastern Asia,
There are so many places that it could have been,
but now it's in your glass…

Maybe it spent a thousand years at the bottom of the Sea,
It must have spent some of its life in the middle of a tree,
It also must have been in someone elses tea,
Don't stop to ask…

(glug, glug... aaah)

(piano and fade)

Maybe It's Something That I Just Don't See

I don't have any faith in any god of yours,
Maybe it's something that I just don't see,
But all I need for faith is myself, friends and family

Look at the people of Israel and Palestine,
Maybe it's something that I just don't see,
But killing people for faith just doesn't sit right with me

Oh people of Palestine your faith doesn't pay,
Oh people of Israel doesn't your faith say,
That the killing of people for faith just doesn't pay

The Emerald Isle is crying,
Maybe it's something that I just don't see,
But killing people for faith just doesn't sit right with me

Oh people of Ireland your faith doesn't pay,
Oh peoples of Ireland don't your faiths say,
That the killing of people for faith it just doesn't pay

Look at the events in Afghanistan
Maybe it's something that had to be done
But don't don't don't don't look the other way

Blind faith in the US just won't pay,
Blind faith in the US just won't pay,
If this is democracy then have your say

(guitar solo)

I don't have any faith in any god of yours... (fade)

Funk It Up

"Funk it up, Funk it up,
I don't want to see a single person standing still
Funk it up, funk it up,
You've got to feel that funky groove, let that sexy body move..."

(spoken)
You see me and my crew we got it all worked out,
Listen to the groove; we know what it's about
A good time playing the music we know
Let the music flow

(funk it up)

Funk it up get on down it's easy
We don't give a funk if you're doing it sleazy
Shake it around and do as you please
If you promise that you ain't going to make us queasy!

(spoken before reprise)
Let me hear you say it again, get on down and shake those hips, and open your lips!

We're All Gonna Die! - (from Belle the most Beautiful Computer Programmer in the Land)

The bombs come down and they all go off
And those that survive have bits blown off
And strange lumps on their heads and legs and places I won't go!

The dust goes up and the skies go dark
And the Earth gets cold and it freezes up
And penguins grow to a monstrous size and hunt us all for fun!

(spoken unison) "Penguins?"

(Belle answers nodding) "Penguins"

(chorus)
We're all gonna die!
We're all gonna die!
The end of the world is nigh!

(repeat as instrumental with tap routine!)

They come from very far away
They appear in their thousands every day
They say that they don't mean to intrude
But all they're after is food!

And what they mostly like to eat is people's feet!

(spoken unison) "People's feet?!"

And when they're finished and they've gone
No-one has feet to put shoes on
The footwear companies go bust
And no-one has a leg to stand on, Ha ha ha! (nervous pause)

(chorus)
We're all gonna die!...

(spoken over tremolo chords) The world heats up a few degrees
And ice caps melt and flood the seas
And from somewhere appears a bug that sterilizes everything!
And all the food we need to eat can't copulate to repopulate
And we soon don't have a thing to eat unless we eat each other!

(Belle) "You wouldn't?!"
(Twinky shakes head in reply)

(chorus)
We're all gonna die!...
